Clara of Crooked Creek Western Short Story edition by MK McClintock Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews
Clara and Alice have had a hard time frame in their past. Arriving in this town has given both a new and bright beginning and outlook. The families of Crooked Creek greet all with open arms needing a new start. Look so forward to the SEQUELS.
I have fallen in love with the women of Crooked Creek. I especially love Clara. She’s smart and oh, so courageous. This courage is demonstrated by leaving her home in Connecticut – with only a plan and her young daughter – to establish a new home in Montana Territory. She meets adversity head on, with grace and strength. You can’t help but admire her.
MK McClintock has brought Clara and Crooked Creek to life for me. I’m looking forward to reading more stories about Clara and the friends she has made in Crooked Creek.
This is an excellent novella and a wonderful, quick read. I think you will enjoy it.
I loved this very short story, Clara of Crooked Creek, nicely written by MK McClintock. I love this new series, A Crooked Creek, which follow smart and independent heroines who settle in Montana during the 1800s. I have already followed, Emma, Briley and Hattie, now it's Clara's turn.
It tells the short story of Clara, a young unwed mother, with a five year old daughter, named Alice. She plans to opened an inn and settle her life at Crooked Creek where she meets the other charming characters of her previous novellas.
This is a sweet introduction! Ms. McClintock plans to write a full-length story of all four heroine, their western journey should be filled with romance and adventure!
This is the final short story in the Crooked Creek series, and it was a heartwarming addition to an already touching and action-packed collection. It was nice getting to know the neighbors, friends and new faces of Crooked Creek; I enjoyed learning their backstory. Clara was a strong woman in her own right, but she was less aware of her strength as the other Crooked Creek women (Emma, Briley and Hattie). Her hurts still seemed very prevalent, so maybe a love interest will appear at a later time. But I liked the fact that Clara was able to stand on her own feet while taking care of her young daughter, Alice. Alice was a lovable and very smart little girl. The threat of danger was lingering in the background, but the story focused on Clara's goal to open an inn. Me thinks she will fit in with the other Montanan gals quite nicely. I am more than a little antsy to get my hands on the next installment, a full length novel!!!!!!!!!
Another nice installment to the Women of Crooked Creek series. They are all easy reads.
I really enjoyed the story but it was much too short for me. However, I am reading some of the other books in this series and they are really delightful.
